Alonissos (old Liadromia, ancient Ikos) is the easternmost inhabited island of the Sporades, with a total population of approximately 2500 people spread across a dozen settlements with the main port, Patitiri It is a pine-clad, quiet island with beautiful beaches. Monk seals live and breed in coastal caves of Alonissos and the surrounding islets. Well marked footpaths criss-cross the island forming a network of marked hiking routes, all recorded on the map. A map of the whole cluster of islands that form the Northern Sporades Marine Park is included.
